Lagungarri is a collaborative project where future residents will design how their community will look. With an initial proposal on a plot of land in Murgia, the project includes 51 homes under a use-rights model and spacious common areas that you can still help define.
At Lagungarri, senior cohousing is more than just a housing model: it’s a life experience in community. Here, founding members design their future home together and decide the rules and activities that will make this community unique.
We aim to:
Live an active aging process.
Foster an atmosphere of cooperation, solidarity, and tolerance.
Promote human relationships as a source of well-being.
Enjoy an independent and social life.
Include everyone who shares our vision of communal living.

The Vision of Lagungarri Senior Cohousing
It’s not a nursing home, where you go (or are sent) when you need special care that can no longer be provided at home. In Lagungarri, you will never feel abandoned.
It’s not a hotel complex. It’s a participatory community.
It’s not a commune. The residential complex will be “our home” where we live, contributing in solidarity to everyone’s well-being.
It’s not standard housing. It’s a project where members live by the motto “today for you, tomorrow for me,” supported by healthcare professionals when needed.
It’s not a real estate development. There are no intermediaries, and it’s non-profit. Any benefits, if generated, will go entirely back into Lagungarri and the well-being of its members.
It’s not a traditional retirement home. It’s an active/proactive space. We will always be the managers and owners of our lives, except in extraordinary circumstances.
