Questions about Coexistence
Questions about Coexistence
It is a group of people who choose to live together with common goals, such as fostering harmonious coexistence, mutual support, and active aging. In our case, we organize ourselves in advance to design our homes and the services we consider necessary, which involves a process of mutual understanding during the project's development.
Yes, we do not want to be an isolated group. We would like to participate in and drive actions within the local community where we are located, which will provide us with activity and a sense of purpose, in addition to allowing us to offer our experience and knowledge to the surrounding environment.
Lagungarri will implement mediation, regular meetings, communication workshops, etc., to foster a harmonious environment and the effective resolution of any conflicts that may arise. We will draw inspiration from sofa talks and other strategies successfully tested in Nordic cohousings.
Coexistence is key. Preventive workshops will be held, and mutual respect will be encouraged. The rules will be detailed in the statutes and the internal regulations.
Don’t be surprised-it’s completely natural. It would be unrealistic to expect to get along with everyone in a group of 51 households. It’s normal to connect more with some people than with others. However, when that person who makes you a bit uncomfortable picks you up from the airport or helps your daughter with her math homework, they might suddenly seem less annoying. You may even come to value and appreciate those you initially judged negatively. They say that living in cohousing is one of the most profound personal growth experiences you can have.
By knowing all our neighbors, we will have an excellent neighborhood watch system in place, as it will be very easy to recognize anyone who doesn’t belong to the community. If you are sick and can't make it to the store, surely a neighbor will be willing to bring you a cup of broth. There will always be someone watching over the property of absent residents. Many members of cohousing communities feel so safe that they leave their doors open when they go out to run errands.
The statutes and internal regulations of Lagungarri are still under development. They will be created by the future members, who, with the support and advice of the legal department of the Grupo Arrasate, will define the rules that will govern the cooperative.
This process will ensure that the regulations reflect the values and needs of the community, promoting a collaborative and transparent coexistence model.
