Dedicated neuroscience researcher with over 3 years of experience, I am currently doing my PhD in co-tutelle in the University of the Basque Country and the University of Bordeaux under the supervision of Dr. Edgar Soria-Gómez and Dr. Luigi Bellocchio. In my PhD I focus on the Medial Habenula and the astrocytic CB1 receptor's role in the regulation of fear expression. I have also participated in other projects that lead to a recently published scientific article as first author in "Biology of Sex Differences". But not only that, Euroglia, FENS, Ikergazte, SEIC are among the congresses I have attended, where I presented posters and an oral presentation in the latter. I have also participated in organizing events such as "Emakumeak Zientzian", "Be Zientzia" and several school visits to Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience. Moreover, I have tutored students in their Master's and Bachelor's thesis.
I am actively learning and developing as a researcher. As an example, during these 3 years I have learned to do in vivo calcium imaging in freely moving animals (Fiber Photometry, Miniscopes).
Neuroscience has taught me that keeping my brain healthy is vital to prevent memory decline, that’s why I spend my free time doing grandma hobbies like knitting or doing sports, preferably outdoors. I also make the most of my bus rides to work with an engaging book.
I am a recipient of the UPV/EHU PIF 2023 fellowship.
