Members entering/selling quilts are expected to help at the show.
If you have a crib quilt that is not for sale and/or you would like it Judged, enter it as a Small quilt
Boutique category and crib quilts are categories available for members to sell quilts. These quilts may have been shown before and baby quilts can be panels.
Baby quilts (i.e. crib quilts) should be registered and not be placed on the Small Articles Table.
INSURANCE: KVQG does not provide insurance for Quilt Show submissions, although we take great care in keeping your quilt safe. You may wish to insure your quilt(s).
We do not accept quilts that have been in previous KVQG shows, tied quilts, quilt tops, pillows.
Panels will be accepted if they have been modified with piecing, deconstruction, or other quilting techniques beyond adding a border or machine quilting.
Large or small quilts are accepted for sale or display. Large quilts are 240” perimeter or more.
All quilts over 200" perimeter must have a 5” (minimum) hanging sleeve with the top and bottom of the sleeve sewn securely to the top of the quilt back or they will not be accepted. Quilts longer than 102” will be adjusted at the show so that they do not drag on the floor. Sleeves are not necessary on small wall hangings, boutique or crib quilts.
We reserve the right to refuse or not hang a quilt that does not meet our requirements. For example, strong perfumes, smelling of smoke, stained quilts, or dog/cat hairs, tied quilts.
Quilts need a fabric label sewn to the back with entrant’s name, name of quilt & size. Please no pins.
Quilts entered in this show will be photographed and may be displayed on social media.
All entries must include a brief Quilter’s Artistic Statement giving credit to maker, quilter, pattern, kit, inspiration, and techniques. The response on the on-line form is limited to 440 characters (approximately 85 words).
Traditional quilt is one made using well-established techniques, blocks, patterns, or designs.
Modern quilt characteristics include use of negative space, improvisational piecing, solids or modern prints, minimalism, asymmetry and updating of classic quilt blocks.
Art quilts include non-traditional materials and techniques such as fabric painting, thread work, photo transfer, felting, or machine embroidery. The design may be abstract or realistic, as in a landscape, still life or portrait.
