Next Meeting - Wed. Oct 15 at the QPlex.
We support our community through charitable donations, both monetary and through gifts of quilts.
Every year our members vote on Charities to support from money raised at our annual quilt show on our raffle quilt and Quilter's Walk.
In 2024 the raffle quilt profits supported donations of $632 (each) for the following charities:
Bobby’s Hospice
Hestia House
NB Mind Care
The Quilter's Walk Proceeds of approximately $1300 were donated to KV Oasis.
On April 23, 2025 KVQG members met with representatives of the Boy's & Girls Club to donate t-shirt quilts for their 125th anniversary. Two of the quilts will be auctioned off, and one will be displayed in their lobby. Thanks to Monday Morning Group, Tuesday Night Chicks, and Sue McEachern & Janet McNulty who quilted the quilts.

In Feb 2023, Ann Perry reported that 60 “anti ouch pouches” were made and given to Lori Flood from the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation (through the Breast Health Program). These pouches, or comfort pillows, provided care for Breast Cancer patients following surgery.
This was a national initiative spearheaded by Vanessa Genier, who coodinated a nation-wide effort by volunteer quilters to gift quilts to Survivors of Residential Schools. The quilts are a symbol of support, respect, and love. Our local committee was comprised of: Libby Maskos, Jean Foglein, Betty Anne Waugh, Susan McEachern, and Ann Perry. They committed to a two year project, focused on supplying quilts to Survivors in the Maritimes. To support this effort the committee provided a block of the month, and periodic sew days (zoom and in-person). The goal was to gift 50 quilts over a two year period (2021-2023). Our guild members were very generous making quilts, long-arm quilting, making embroidery labels, and cards. Here's a link to the national Facebook page "Quilts for Survivors" . See links for more information and photos of some of the quilts that were made.
