Next Meeting - March 18, 2026 at the QPlex at 7 pm.
Program is Snip & Rip. Please bring the following items to the meeting next Wednesday.:
a fat quarter,
a fat eighth
a 10” by 10” square
scissors.
Please make sure that you choose fabrics you would be happy to receive in exchange with others.
Part of the program will also entail a small quilted item exchange that is totally voluntary. Members can decide to participate or not on a monthly basis. For March, the item will be a needle/pin case. People will need to place their item in a paper bag for the exchange. They can also make more than one. For example, if someone makes 2, each item will be placed in 2 different bags and that person can take 2 bags when the exchange happens. The exchange is supposed to be anonymous. So bags should not be identifiable. After the exchange, people can find out who did the item(s).

2026 New Brunswick Contemporary Quilt Award is awarded biannually by the NB Museum and Marco Polo Quilt Guild. The winning quilt will be purchased for the permanent collection of the New Brunswick Museum.
This Award ensures that quilts made after 1960 in the province are represented in the New Brunswick Museum’s collection. In the past 60 years or so, there have been major changes in quilt-making tools and methods. Some quilts have moved off beds onto walls and, with this expanded use, different styles of quilts have developed. Ultimately, if it is to tell the most complete story, the New Brunswick Museum’s quilt collection must include examples of what has been happening in quilt-making in New Brunswick in the recent past.
The following criteria will be considered as part of the selection process:
The quilt must have been made since 1960.
The quilter is a resident of New Brunswick.
The quilter is a member of a New Brunswick quilt guild.
Workmanship will be reviewed closely.
The deadline to submit is April15, 2026. Here's a link to information on the award and how to apply. Hopefully, some members will submit an apllication. Good luck everyone!
The theme of the show is Scrap Happy - No Piece Left Behind. The dates are September 21 - 26, 2026.
Convenor: Janet McLeod
Co-Convenors: Odette Richard and Ann Perry
This year the challenge is a paint chip challenge. Here's a link to the instructions.
