KRSC Accepting 2025 JA Applications (Closure on Oct. 10th)
The Korean Rubin Science Collaboration (KRSC) is a group of scientists based in Korea, sharing aims to make great sciences, and to create science opportunities for younger generations using the astronomical data and technology of the Vera C. Rubin Observatory. The KRSC is formed and run through members’ voluntary participation to promote scientific activities and performance of the KRSC members, and is based on mutual respect.
The KRSC membership is more inclusive and wider than Rubin Data Right Holder (DRH) status, and the Collaboration invites you to apply for its membership, which is open to any qualified scientists who share its aim and agree to the following membership conditions and guidelines:
I am affiliated with universities, institutes, and schools in Korea [or I will be moving to Korea and acquire an official status in Korea in less than 6 months] (updated in Aug 2025)
I will contribute to the KRSC scientific activities and/or other relevant activities and events organized or supported by KASI.
I agree to respect the other members and the Management Team.
I agree to follow the KRSC acknowledgement guidelines when I publish and present all scientific results generated from Rubin/LSST data in addition to the standard Rubin/LSST Project acknowledgements.
I agree to participate in the regular survey organized by the KRSC Management Team about the Rubin/LSST related research activities and performances.
I agree to notify the Management Team as soon as I have my affiliation and/or job status changed.
The KRSC membership can be retained and extended when the current member moves to foreign institutes or out of the in-kind contribution program under KRSC based on the member's choice. (added in Aug 2025)
The KRSC Management Team retains rights to modify and update any part of this membership guidelines and conditions as needed. The KRSC Management Team will notify members of any change.
[Note#1] By being a member, you have a right to ask questions regarding the KRSC membership and Rubin/LSST project related issues. The KRSC Management Team will provide answers to the questions on the best effort basis, and some questions and answers may be publicly shared among the members after any proper anonymization.
[Note#2] You have to join the KRSC first before you apply for Korean Rubin DRH status.
