The Korean Rubin Data Access Rights (DAR) are employed through the Data Right Agreements (DRA) between KASI and SLAC/DOE, and another DRA between KASI and AURA/NSF, both signed in 2024.Â
The DRAs are organized based on the KASI In-kind Contribution Proposal that was approved by DOE and NSF, US Government.
The DAR comes in two status categories: PI (Principal Investigator) and JA (Junior Associate) scientist status.
The PI status is for scientists that have the position and means to raise funds in support of, or to manage and run an in-kind contribution. Typically, tenured or tenure-track faculty or senior research staff will be PI status holder.
The JA status is for scientists who are graduate students, postdocs, and lecturers and staff who do not have institutional principle investigator status.
The PI scientist needs to be affiliated with KASI, but JA scientist does not. Every PI scientist can support up to four (4) JA scientists, and it is the PI scientist's responsibility to supervise/mentor the JA scientist(s).
