Like the Whomping Willow at Hogworts, to quote Professor Snape in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I have taught in the district since "before you were born," 1992 to be exact. Following in not just my mother's but my grandmother's footsteps, I earned my teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A few years later, I focused on African-American literature for my master's degree is in curriculum and instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Born and bred a city kid, I've now lived in Elkhorn longer than any place else. When not teaching, I'm either driving my daughter to Irish dance class, my son to lacrosse or my dog to the dog park.
