Tokoyami didn't expect to find himself in Tooru Hagakure's apartment after one too many drinks, and definitely didn't expect to accept her advances.

But he loves watching himself vanish into her over and over… 

Toru Hagakure was used to being different, born with porcelain white skin and bright red eyes the rest of the world looked at her as something other. An abomination. A freak. And so little by little she pulled away from the world, only leaving her house at night when the world wasn’t so bright and loud and unpleasant.

She takes a job in a laboratory, working long nights cleaning floors and tidying up components, long after the scientists have left. She’s the only soul in the entire building most of the time, out of the way of the prying eyes of the daytime world, and that’s the way she likes it.

Until one night she’s not alone anymore. A creature in a tank that displays easily as much intelligence as her own, captured and studied, treated as other just like she always has been.

She’s never had a friend before, but something about the creature calls to her. Perhaps not being alone for a while will be nice.
