When, in an attempt to break the record for surfing the biggest wave in the region, Kirishima is knocked from his board and falls into the water from a 25ft swell without returning to the surface his friends were certain that he had been pulled under and swept away by the storm.

Shinsou doesn’t expect to start his morning of hunting with a strike to the back of the head from a limp human elbow, but he just can’t find it in himself to leave the hapless creature to drown, so he drags him back to the island above his cove home, throwing him onto the sand and hoping for the best.
