A mutation that completely darkens the coat and markings without making it pure black.
Kiseilians with this mutation have amber/yellow eyes but usually they don't suffer of any problem of Albino Kiseilians.
Melanistic Kiseilians have amber yellow eyes.
This colour isn't heritable.
If the puppies are not Melanistic, they will have black eyes like usual.
When you have to design a Melanistic Kiseilian, you can choose if you want to show its markings or not.
If you decide to show them, you must do it with all of them!
If the Melanistic Kiseilian has visible markings, those must be always depicted in every pic to count for RP.
In case you don't want to show the markings, you can vary a bit the main coat colour, as showed below.
You should pick the colours from the slide given.
Only few markings can still be showed: Lumen and Mirror.
Lumen can still show some colours but with a dark palette (similar to Smoke base and a bit more lighter) in the day version; on the night one they will work a normal lumen.
Mirror must follow the basecoat spectrum, so it will use the same colours of the leucistic palette or a pastel. Obviously you could give it a glimmer appearence but can't have other colours.
Only exception for colored markings is when special saturated markings are present ( such as Aurum, Dust, Robin, etc) they can override the mutation and be colored and bright! Here an example.
