The following is taken from a document produced by Vi (Flatau) Johnson: Vi asked her mom, Elsie Flatau, many questions in January of 1988 when she was visiting Port Angeles. The account was compiled by Vi in March 1988. Minnie (Beckman) Heilman read it over in February 1988 to add a note or two.

William Frederick Nicholas "Bill" Beckman

Bill worked on farms near Perham and one of the farms was Lipinski's. The Lipinski's moved to Oregon City, Oregon and Bill went there to work for them.

He met Marie Heilman (Marie’ sister married a Lipinski) and they were married.

Marie had custody of her brother's son Mike.

Marie and Bill had one son.

Bill Beckman’s obituary in the newspaper:

William F. Beckman, 83, died at a local hospital Sunday. He had been a Canby resident since 1960 moving here from Minnesota.

Mr. Beckman was born January 30, 1892 to August and Marie Beckman in Becker County, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife Marie; a son Ted Beckman, Canby; a brother Emil Beckman in Minnesota; four sisters, Elsie Flatau, Minnesota; Emma Parks, Louisiana; Clara Walther, Lodi ,California; Minnie Heilman, McMinnville.
