Emma Wilhelmina Beckman

Emma worked in Perham as a maid at the Merchants Hotel. She had many nice dresses and clothes and all was lost in the fire in 1903.

After answering an ad in the newspaper, she went to Jamestown, North Dakota. There she met Clinton Parks, a railroad man. They were married November 23, 1909 in the afternoon. Clint was 30 and Emma was 25.

They lived in Jamestown where Clint was an engineer on the railroad. He was asked to work as a scabbard on a strike train and after this was unable to find work on the railroad.

The family then went to Warroad, Minnesota where he had a job on a dredger. They returned to Jamestown and were unsuccessful in finding work.

They went to Louisiana where Clint was a switchman on the Texas Pacific and Missouri Pacific Railroads.

They had eight children.
