INTERNET ACCESS:

The internet is an important tool for research in this class. You may use the internet for assignment research during class. Beyond assignment research such as watching movies or episodes, Facebook and other social networking during class is strongly discouraged as it takes away from your ability to stay focused on your work. During break you are welcome to participate in all of the above.

IN CLASS:

Instructor will perform demonstrations on using the computer software. You will work on assignments during class and obtain individualized instruction.

DEFINE > PLAN > PROPOSE > EXECUTE

Headphones may not be used in class as I don't know if you are listening.

You are not permitted to work on other projects in this course time.

CLASS CRITIQUES:

We will have a group critique for every project. You are expected to participate fully in every critique. Skipping critiques will negatively affect your grade. You will present your project. You will be critiqued considering the assignments reflection on your major and meeting the needs of your portfolio.

OUTSIDE OF CLASS:

You will be performing research and gathering information for your assignments. You be expected to put in extra time completing or reworking assignments. DEFINE > PLAN > PROPOSE > EXECUTE

ATTENDANCE:

Engagement and work ethic are factors of your grade. You can expect me to arrive on time and be prepared for class and I expect the same of you.

• More than 3 unexcused absences will negatively effect your grade.

• Each absence beyond 3 will continue to negatively effect your grade.

• Arriving to class late and/or leaving early will also lower your grade.

• Arriving to class late and/or leaving early 3 times will equal one absence.

GRADING WILL BE BASED ON:

• Effective understanding of technical and conceptual demos.

• Timeliness and presentation.

• Quality of project definition, project planning, project proposal and project execution.

• Participation in the class ideation and critiques.

• Missing a project deadline will equal an F for that project. This does not mean that you should not finish the project and get feedback on it. Many of these projects are created with your portfolio in mind. Not doing a project will affect the quality of your final portfolio.
