Description: This artifact is a visual example of effort used in Standard Based Grading.
Connection: This artifact aligns with the seventh Illinois Professional Teaching Standard and the knowledge indicator 7C) "Understands measurement theory and assessment-related issues, such as validity, reliability, bias, and appropriate and accurate scoring;" Art can be considered subjective, where as this visual representation of the grading scale based off effort helps with appropriate grading.
Importance: Understanding measurement theory and assessment-related issues is important for teachers as it ensures the accuracy in the administering and measuring of student learning.

Importance: It is important for teachers to understand how to select, construct and use assessments to evaluate instructional effectiveness. This is important because it enables teacher to identify ares for improvement and determine what supports will help enhance student outcomes.
