Do's List â
â Cable Organiser Bag
A cable organiser bag is a must-have for keeping your tech accessories neat and tangle-free while travelling. Instead of digging through your bag for chargers, adapters, or earphones, everything stays in one place and easy to find. It also helps protect cables from damage and keeps them from getting lost. Whether youâre carrying a phone charger, laptop cables, or camera accessories, a compact organizer makes packing and staying organized so much easier!
â Long Phone Charging Cord
A long phone charger cord (at least 2 meters) is a total lifesaver, especially when staying in hostels. Power outlets are often in inconvenient placesâlike across the room or near the floorâso a longer cord lets you charge your phone while still using it comfortably from your bed or desk. It also comes in handy when outlets are limited, as you can stretch it to reach where you need it. Trust me, itâs worth the extra space in your bag!
â Multi Charger Cord
A multi-charger cord with five different charger heads is a travel game-changer. Instead of carrying multiple cords for your phone, tablet, camera, and other devices, you can use just one compact cord to charge them all. Itâs perfect for minimizing clutter in your bag and makes charging in hostels or cafes much easier, especially when outlets are limited. Plus, itâs great for sharing with fellow travellers if they need a charger. One cord, all the convenience!
â Portable Chargers (X2)
Investing in two durable portable chargers is a must when travelling. One might run out of juice or take longer to recharge, and having a backup ensures youâre never without power. Whether youâre out exploring all day or in a place with limited outlets, portable chargers keep your phone, camera, or other devices ready for action. Opt for quality, long-lasting chargers that can handle your tech needs, and youâll be glad you brought them when youâre on the go!
â Universal Adapter
A universal adapter is a must-have for any trip. Instead of packing multiple adapters for each country youâre visiting, invest in one versatile adapter that works in all the countries on your itinerary. Itâll save you space and hassle, ensuring you can charge your devices no matter where you are. Plus, universal adapters are compact and easy to use, making them the perfect travel companion for tech-savvy travellers!
â Wired Earphones
Wired earphones may seem old-fashioned, but theyâre an absolute lifesaver when travelling. I always bring one pair for my phone and another for the plane, as some airlines charge for headphones. I never used to use wired earphones until I started travelling, but now I swear by them. They donât need charging like AirPods, and they're less likely to fall out of your ears, especially during long flights or bus rides. Plus, theyâre compact and reliableâmaking them a must-have in my travel bag!
â Portable Fan
A portable travel fan is one of the best items I brought overseas, and it was a total game-changer. This USB rechargeable fan had a large clip, so I could easily attach it to a seat, bed, or anything nearbyâperfect for staying cool in hot climates or stuffy rooms. It was compact, lightweight, and so much more convenient than carrying around a bulky fan. I was the only one with one in my group, and it quickly became the envy of everyone else! If you're heading somewhere warm, this fan is a must-have.
â Airpods & Protective Case
Bringing AirPods on your trip is a game-changer for travel convenience. Theyâre perfect for listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks on long flights, buses, and trains without dealing with tangled wires. Plus, they make hands-free calls and voice navigation super easy while exploring. Their compact size means they take up no space, and with noise cancellation, they help block out unwanted sounds in busy airports or noisy hostels. To keep them safe from damage, be sure to bring a protective case. If you love travelling with entertainment and hassle-free audio, AirPods are a must-pack!
â Laptop & AccessoriesÂ
Bringing a laptop and its accessoriesâa charger (compatible with your travel adapter) and a quality protective caseâcan be essential for travel, especially if you work remotely, edit content, or need reliable access to files. A laptop makes it easier to manage photos, videos, or travel bookings, and having the right charger ensures you stay powered up. A sturdy case protects it from damage while on the move. If youâll be working, creating, or just prefer a bigger screen, a laptop is definitely worth packing!
â GoPro & AccessoriesÂ
Bringing a GoPro and its accessoriesâcharger, case, selfie stick, mini tripod, and moreâis a must if you want to capture epic travel content, especially underwater. Unlike a phone, a GoPro is built for adventure, letting you film while swimming, snorkelling, or even diving without worry. The accessories make it even more versatile, helping you get steady shots, unique angles, and hands-free footage. If you love creating travel videos or just want high-quality action shots, a GoPro setup is definitely worth packing!
â Camera & Accessories
Bringing a camera and its accessoriesâcharger, case, extra batteries, and memory cardsâis worth it for capturing high-quality travel memories. While phones take great photos, a camera gives you better detail, zoom, and low-light shots, especially for scenic landscapes or special moments. A sturdy case keeps it protected, and having spare batteries ensures you donât miss a shot. If you love photography or just want to document your trip in the best quality, a camera setup is a must-pack!
â Spare PhoneÂ
Bringing a spare phone on your trip is a smart backup plan. Luckily, I didnât have to use mine, but Iâve heard plenty of stories about people getting pickpocketed or accidentally dropping their phones. Having a backup means you wonât be stranded without maps, contacts, or important travel info if something happens. It doesnât need to be fancyâjust a basic spare that can keep you connected in an emergency!
Don'ts List â
â Hardrive
Skip the hard drive unless youâre going on a long trip or planning to take tons of photos and videos. I packed one on my last trip but barely used it since I didnât reach for my GoPro or camera much. For shorter travels, my phoneâs storage and cloud backups were more than enough. If youâre not a heavy content creator, save the space and leave it at home!
â Handheld Fan
Donât bother packing a handheld fanâI brought one and didnât use it once. Holding it up constantly is more inconvenient than youâd think, especially when youâre on the move. Instead, I ended up buying a better, hands-free fan that was way more practical. Save the space in your bag and opt for a more efficient cooling solution.
â Theft Preventing Phone Landyard
Skip the theft-preventing phone lanyardâI packed one and never used it. Instead, I kept my phone safely zipped inside my bag, which felt more secure and convenient. The lanyard just ended up being unnecessary bulk, and I never felt the need for it. If you stay aware of your surroundings and keep your bag secure, you likely wonât need one either!
â Phone Holder
Donât bother packing a phone holderâI brought one, and it just took up space in my bag. I hardly used it since I usually held my phone or propped it up against something when needed. Unless youâre using it constantly for filming or navigation, itâs not worth the extra bulk. Save the space for something more useful!
â Water Proof Phone Pouch
A waterproof phone pouch might seem like a smart travel accessory, but it can be more of a hassle than a help. Constantly taking your phone in and out of the pouch gets annoying, and touch sensitivity can be frustrating, making it difficult to use your phone properly. Instead of dealing with the inconvenience, opt for a high-quality, waterproof and shockproof phone case that offers permanent protection without the extra bulk. If youâre planning water-based activities, itâs better to bring dedicated waterproof gear like a GoPro or a waterproof cameraâdesigned for adventure without the fuss!
â Luggage Scale
A luggage scale might seem like a smart travel tool, but in most cases, itâs just unnecessary extra weight. Weigh your bag before you leave, and as long as you avoid excessive shopping or packing heavy items, you wonât need to check it constantly. Plus, if you do end up needing to check the weight, most airports and even some hostels have scales available. Save the space in your bag for something more useful and skip the luggage scale!
