Place six sticky notes on your dry erase board
On the first sticky write “Something that is unique about you”
On the next sticky write “How you relax on the weekends”
On the next sticky write “TV programs that you would binge watch if you had time”
On the next sticky write “A favorite type of food”
On the next one write "Your role model"
On the last one write "A teaching strategy that works for you"
When the signal word is given you will Stand up, hand up, and pair up.
Each partner takes a turn reading the other partners sticky notes
As one partner reads they take sticky notes that relate to them somehow.
RULE: There must be one sticky note left on the other persons board at all times
When done find a new partner until time is called
Return to your team with your new stickies
Starting with one person read a sticky from your board
Initial your sticky and place it in the center of the table
If there are any other team members who can relate to that sticky they initial it
Continue until all stickies are gone
Discuss your commonalities until time is called
TAs/LSAs/Teachers can help SEN children write their reponses.
Children can draw rather than write.
Students interact with each other discussing their choices.
Teaches children to respect each other's choices.
Meet and greet and parting gestures.
Use as Classbuilding and then Teambuilding to further generate Team Names and Team cheers.
Use in content where relevant.
Use Post-it notes and whiteboards.
Make sure children are meeting random people in the room, not just their friends.
When done with a partner, put your hand up to show you are available. Wait in the stiky zone (middle of the classroom) with your hand up.
Make sure all chairs are tucked in and children are using all areas of the classroom.
