It is with much sadness that we are saying goodbye at the end of this academic year to Mrs Horsfield, who is retiring after 38 years of service to our school. Mrs Horsfield has been a much valued part of our community and her outstanding contribution to supporting the education and future life chances of the many thousands of learners who have benefitted from her teaching, care and guidance is much to be proud of. Mrs Horsfield has been a loyal and committed professional who has taught history and RE alongside her role as a Learning Leader, where she has supported our young people throughout their educational journey at Longdendale High School. She is a much loved and respected colleague who will be missed by us all – I know many of our families have many fond memories of Mrs Horsfield spanning across the generations! On behalf of all of the staff, learners, families, governors and directors I would like to thank her for all of her hard work and dedication to Longdendale High School and wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
