HTMP1 SY 2022-2023

Year-end reflections      May 17, 2023

1. Describe at least two of the most important lessons you learned from our class (refer to your textbooks and also on life).

The first most important lesson i that I have learned from this class that has taught me is the needs of a  planner. This lesson has taught me the importance of patience and being organized in a work place. This caught my eye  because being able to be a treasurer for HosTS was a very big responsibility. Attending meetings, setting meetings, and having to be caught up with payments has taught me to be ahead and never wait till the last minute.

2. What were your most memorable experiences from our class?

A couple memorable experiences I have had in this class was getting to work together while doing hands-on activities. It brought the class together just like last year. Another memorable experience  I have had  is being a treasurer for HosTS, this had taught me so much and gave me a big responsibility for our club,

3. If I had to redo my school year, what would I do differently?

Something I would  do differently is get my work done faster and not do it last minute. This has taught me a lot this whole school year because I never wanted all my work to add up.

4. Rate your effort for our class (5 being the highest to 1 being the lowest) and describe your one challenge and one success during this school year.

My overall effort that I would give myself is a 3 because I did put in a lot of effort to finish my assignments even when I have procrastinated  a lot . I pushed myself to get work done and try my best to take those responsibilities as a student.

5. Add at least two favorite photos of your class from this school year.

Freshmen Recruitment  Feb 8, 2023

My classmates and I had the opportunity to speak to the freshman class on February 8, 2023, about the GCC Hospitality program and all the prospects and advantages they could receive by enrolling in it. But before all that, me and my classmates all gathered together to split up parts of the presentations to practice on what we needed to do.

Overall the presentation was a success. My team and I all did a good job with splitting up the parts. This presentation helped me figure out what I need to fix for any upcoming  presentations that I might have. I felt very relieved after presenting.

Something I would want to do differently is speak louder during  freshmen recruitment. We were told by one of the students that we needed to be more louder. Which I hope to improve later on for our future presentations. But other than that I personally think I did pretty good with speaking clearly and mainting eye contact, I just need to improve how loud I am for everyone to hear.

Japan Autumn Festival        November 19, 2022

What?

On November 19, 2022 I got to attend The Japan Autumn Festival at Ypao beach. Tourist and residents of Guam came to visit and see the Japanese culture. There were many fun activities and food for everyone to enjoy.

So what?

This was a wonderful chance for me to learn what it's like to work while yet maintaining customer satisfaction. Along with engaging with classmates who assisted me in serving drinks, I got to interact with a lot of people. I learned that everything will run smoothly if everyone is patient and cooperative. I had a great time doing this, and I'm grateful I had the opportunity. I'm hoping I can use what I learned in the future.

Now what?

By participating in this event I will be able to use what I learned in the future. As well doing better and see what I need to improve to satisfy more customers.I had fun volunteering in this event because I had fun interacting with people and experience what it's like to work.
