HTMP SY 2023-2024

Mrs. Hope Hiura's Presentation 11. 14. 2023

During this presentation, it helped me and my classmates understand her experience working in the HR. She taught us many dos and do not during this presentation. I learned a lot during this especially "no call, no show". And as a person who has a job I got to understand the importance of communication in a workplace.

Mrs. Oliveros's Presentation        November 20, 2023

As each year goes by, our GCC counselor Mrs. Oliveros presents to our HosTS class. I found this presentation like a refresher from the past times she has presented to our class. But during this presentation, it was a lot more of different since we are now seniors and we covered the different programs that can help us after high school, as well as during.

And as the year is coming to end and we have to start thinking about our college paths. Where I learned about many scholarships that have benefits. This presentation truly helped me understand many things I did not know before attending college.

                Dr Bentances' Presentation

On October 6, 2023, Dr. Bentances was able to present a speech to us seniors of HTMP and Prostart. Dr. B. was able to talk about how to start a speech to us seniors with our Ted Talks. He was able to set a standard on how to start a speech, which was a shocking fact. It helped us realize how important it was to catch the audience's attention. I learned many things during this presentation that would later on help me not only with my Ted Talks but with life.

I was able to understand Dr. B's presentation, that's why I enjoyed it. He made us feel the energy he wanted to bring. He brought so much light to the room. It made me understand his presentation so clearly because he was expressive. I'm glad we had Dr. came to present to us.

How to start a Speech  (October 4, 2023)

In the video I watched, I learned the 3 main points of how to start a speech. Starting by catching their attention and then continuing to introduce yourself. You can always catch their attention by asking a question or stating a fact that will shock the audience. And lastly start the speech strong and have it be relatable to your audience.

I agree with the video because, starting with a fact or question has always been something that caught my attention during presentations. And continuing to introduce yourself. Starting with your name won't instantly catch their attention that's why the points in the video taught me so much that could help me with my upcoming presentation.
