Practice your Country Speech with your Team Members
In this session, you will take part in two short exercises to develop your proposal ideas from Session 6. You will discuss your proposals with students from different regions. Each exercise has a clear focus and goal.
Goal: Understand each other’s proposals and clarify ideas.
Instructions:
Each member presents the key points of their proposal (about 1 minute per person).
Listen carefully and ask questions to clarify details.
Use expressions like:
– “What exactly do you mean by...?”
– “Can you give an example of that?”
– “Why do you think that is the best solution?”
ー"Your writing style seems to be different from others. Let's fix it."
ー"Your font is too big, let's make it small"
Identify any similarities or differences between your proposal and others.
Take notes.
Goal: Find ways to connect your ideas and prepare to explain them clearly.
Instructions:
Review the similarities and differences from Exercise 1.
Discuss if your ideas can be combined. If not, explain how they can support each other.
Open the shared Google Doc and work together to edit your proposal ideas.
After the discussion, think of or write a short explanation in English of what was discussed.
Use the sentence frame below to help you:
