   This genre is important to my profession because obituaries are pieces of writing that highlights the life of the deceased loved one, obituaries are nice things to hold on to so you can keep them around in some kind of way. I still hold on to all of my lost loved ones' obituaries and just look back at the memories. The samples provided are good examples of obituaries, they are more creative now and full of color but these examples show the typical layouts for obituaries.
