In a cave, darkness and light, stone and water, silence and echoes, and stillness and motion are in constant interplay. This piece turns the performer into the explorer, revealing new areas of the cave and returning to see old ones in a new light. Venturing past puddles of water, deep ravines, and spiky rock formations, the pianist showcases the subtle variety within a cave. Listen to old harmonic patterns and sound colours gradually shifting towards an uncertain ending. Will the performer escape to see the sun once again, or will he remain in the cave, stuck without light for the rest of his life?Â
