From the Depths is a piece about the Canadian mythological creature, the Ogopogo, which some people claim inhabits Okanagan Lake in British Columbia. The piece begins inside the monster’s lair, which, in this composition, is a dark underwater cave covered in slime. In the “Aggressive” section, the cryptid leaves its cave to hunt for fish. During “Wandering,” the Ogopogo casually swims alongside a canoe, until a motorboat scares it away. With a renewed vigour, the monster tracks and eats fish in the lake, in “Active,” until it finally returns to its familiar abode, settling down and thinking about its adventure.
