This course is a compilation of what public administration entails. The topics include public admin budgeting, ethics, management, leadership, and other aspects. The objective of the course is to discuss public administration theories and be able to apply them to real world cases. In addition to public sector values, ideas, traditions, and practices.
The course gives students an opportunity to have positive discussions with each other in a meaningful fashion. Indeed, the ability to discuss hot topic issues with students that vary in ideology helped one comprehend different perspectives.
Not applicable because this is my first public administration course.
A key element was the realization that the public sector is deeply different from the private and third sectors. I was under the impression that the government could operate like a private organization. However, realizing that the public sector is not primarily concerned with profits, it helped me realize that the government aims to help all citizens in a democratic fashion.
This essay, aims to demonstrate that a public administrator must balance public administrative duties while cooperating with private organizations. It is imperative that the public administrator comprehends the ethical issues that may arise in relation to the relationship between the public and private sector.
