Grange Gardens Installation Two sets of the Voyager Series were installed in the Gertrude Jekyll Gardens at the rear or the Grange in Rottingdean. I was invited by Rottingdean Heritage, who look after the house and gardens to install the pieces in Spring 2023.
The works are made of Corten steel and were inspired by the voyages of the Vikings across the seas to new lands, such as Newfoundland, and echo the shape of the prows of their longships. Now installed, I really liked how the shape of the work fits with the tall plants in the flower beds, they look like they have grown there! Many thanks to Rottingdean Heritage for supporting my work.
Update 2025 - RH have purchased 3 of the larger Voyagers for permanent installation in the Gertrude Jekyll Gardens. The remaining Voyagers remain in situ on loan (still for sale)
Knowlands Wood Art Installation Three site specific artworks made for an exhibition in woodland near Lewes, Sussex, April 2010.
The works were made after reading the poem Goblin Market poem by Christina Rosetti and visiting the woodland.
Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Lear for allowing us to have the show in their woodland.
