9th GLT MISSION STATEMENT
We are here to teach and build upon the foundational skills our kids need to perform at a level competitive with any other student in the nation. We are cracking the CRS code to help students develop the skills they can use over the course of their life so they may survive in any environment and achieve absolute independence. We are ensuring that students with perceived or actual disabilities are afforded the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and capacity for learning. We are teaching life skills through music and challenging our students to make music relative to their lives. We keep students thirsty for knowledge and teach them the value of intrinsic motivation. We instill in our students a desire to never give anything less than their best, so as to not sacrifice their gifts. We motivate and inspire them to make positive, life-changing decisions. We fill students with the fire to set goals and go after them with full force so that they can make the world around them a better place. We encourage our students to value hard work, integrity, humor, and love. We are transforming, empowering, and motivating them to become agents of change; educating hearts and minds to CHANGE THE WORLD.
*each member of the team wrote their own mission statement and I combined them to create one for the team.
I instituted student surveys as the Grade Level Lead. We discussed results and implications at our team meeting. Given that I only did one survey for each teacher, many opted to give all their students the survey and reported out on the data.
I had a count down for the state test in the hallways around the building to create a sense of urgency.
One of my weekly team meeting agendas.
Table that outlines the components of Instructional Rounds.
This is the feedback form that the observer filled out for each teacher they observed.
Reflection sheet for the person who was observed to analyze their feedback from all the observers.
I created this tool for us to norm on the behaviors we had seen from our students from the start of the school year until the point of this meeting. The document was about 5 pages long, but it was helpful to see the variance in how we were responding to behaviors. This allowed us to create consistency and fairness for our students across all teachers and classrooms.
These were the norms we came up with and agreed to in an effort to create fairness and consistency for the students.
I created this Weekly Assessment Analysis for each teacher on my team to complete. They were responsible for having it completed prior to the meeting so I could give them feedback on them. This was part of my strategy to get individual students to grow on the EPAS (page 1 of 2).
This shows the feedback I gave to this teacher (page 2 of 2 of the WAAW).
This is how I help my team accountable for completing the WAAW each week.
I gave my team a survey to collect data around the effectiveness of my leadership and our time together.
