We get together at my house every year around the winter holidays.
Picture Day junior year; two were absent.
At the basketball game that Cel was honored at.
As young men, we are in control of our own destiny. We have a responsibility to make positive choices.
CHOICES are simply
Chances to
Hurdle
Over
Inconvenient
Circumstances in
Every Situation.
If we choose to make a bad choice, we will accept responsibility for our actions and take the consequence with maturity. There will be no excuses for our behavior. Excuses are monuments of nothing that build bridges which lead to nowhere. Those who use these tools of incompetence are masters of nothing. This is the secret to our destiny. We own it!
*I created this for them to recite each morning during advisory.
A (time stamped) agenda is the key to productivity.
This was used to motivate them to get through high school successfully and into to a competitive college.
I created this report for each of my advisees to help guide our conversations about their effort and ultimately their college options. The number in the circle represents their ACT growth target.
Parent partnership is integral to achieving the best success with your advisees. I created a personalized invite for the parents of my advisees for quarterly Report Card Pick Up days. I met with 100% of my families, all four quarters, all three years I was there.
This was the page I submitted to be added to the senior yearbook for my advisory.
Marcel Pearson was (and still is) a Carew Boy. He had boundless potential, but struggled to make good choices within a system that was designed for him to fail. Although he is gone, he will forever be in our hearts.
I believed in you then, and I still believe you now. Gone way too soon.
