Garbage - Relational Aesthetics

In this collaborative piece, we dove into social practices and relational aesthetics, framing this performance based on three artists: Gillian Wearing, Jens Haaning, and my all-time favourite performance artist Lee Bul. We invited our peers/audiences  to make a wearable sculpture out of garbage bags and to tape their written worries and insecurities on our performer, Katie. Later, we took the audience's final work into the streets of East Hastings, walking into a farmers market, visiting historical tourist sites, and strutting the sculpture down the street, eager to receive stares.
