Stormscape

This year I have been making a study of water, and in particular the Atlantic surrounding Newfoundland, which is where my family hails from.  The turbulence of rough waters is offset by the way that the light often gets caught and reflected in the waves, and sometimes the scale of it is lost, so a tiny flock of birds wheeling over the spray gives a sense of immensity.  

Stormscape is painted in acrylic on prepared wood panel, sealed and mounted in a custom built black pine frame.  Outside dimesions are 25x16"
