Hello Jeffco Teens Interns and Community Advisors,
Tomorrow is our next Jeffco Teens Large Group meeting. Here is what you need to know:
It’s virtual! The Zoom link, password and meeting agenda are all here: https://sites.google.com/view/jeffcoctcyouthinterns/big-group-meetings/10-21-planning-your-internship
The meeting starts right at 4 PM. Please be on time--or even a few minutes early.
We ask that you have your camera’s on for the meeting. Please rename yourself so we know who you are & include your pronouns if you feel comfortable doing so.
IF you haven’t completed your paperwork fully, then you will be contacted separately about that. Please look for an email from Debby.
Opportunity of the week: By the way, if you have opinions and would like to be paid for them—be sure to visit JeffcoTeens.org . There is a cool paid focus group opportunity for you that other interns did in the past and really liked a lot. TODAY is the deadline to apply. You can also pass this along to friends.
See you tomorrow,
Pamela

Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you and the others you applied with a position as a Jeffco Teens intern for 2021 – 2022 on the Library Teen Spaces project team. Your community advisors will Tori Sandoval from Jefferson County Public Libraries. Here is your project page, which will be added to throughout your project. Your team calendar is there, too.
I will be sending you a text message from 720-418-9334. Please reply to that message to accept this position—if you don’t get that message, please text me at that number, and include your name when you text.
Your first (required) internship meeting will be on Thursday, October 14th from 4 to 5:30 PM at the Wheat Ridge Recreations Center, 4005 Kipling Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. Here is what you need to know: To pay you the $405 for the completed internship, we need these documents here to be signed & the agreement notarized by BOTH you and your guardian (or just you, if you are older than 18 years). How? Two options-- you can either:
Pick up paperwork, sign it and have it notarized at the meeting on Oct. 14. If possible (and if it isn’t, come anyway and we will figure it out!), you will need:
Your parent or guardian to sign in front of the notary, with an government issued ID
Your high school ID or driver’s license (if you have one)
Your Social Security Number
OR, instead you can print each of these documents, fill them out, then bring the already signed and notarized paperwork with you to the meeting. (The agreement will need to be signed in front of the notary public.)
Also, a few other details you may want to know about our meeting next Thursday, October 14:
Pizza and salad will be served—with enough for parents, guardians, siblings, etc.
Some of the meeting may take place outside. Please dress appropriately.
Masks will be required at this meeting.
We will ask for a picture of you—or another creative representation, if you prefer—for your team page. Please have one ready to send us or plan to ask a teammate to take a photo of your group members while at the meeting.
Optional: registered nurses will be on hand offering free COVID-19 and flu vaccinations to participants, family, friends or the public.
Optional: if you have a laptop or tablet, please bring that with you to use with our Google Docs. If you don’t, don’t worry-- Jefferson County Libraries is bringing plenty to borrow.
Please forward this email to your guardian right now to let them know you need their help to get this internship started!
Want to know more?

I know I speak for the whole Jeffco CTC Coalition when I say that we are excited to be working with you to make our community a better place! This is our fifth year working with Jefferson County teens as interns, and we are very excited about this year’s internship theme—Safer Spaces for Teens. See you on Thursday.
