Social Development and Social Change
This longitudinal study in Nepal is tracking 764 students (age range: 10-18 years, yearly assessments since 2016) in order to find out how students from social minority groups develop socially and academically in different educational context. In addition, the project helps to find out how children and adolescents reason about social inequality and social hierarchies and how adolescents become civically engaged.
Another important target is to find out if the social inclusion of social minority group children and children from poor economic backgrounds can be enhanced through scholarship programs.
We discuss our findings with representatives of the ministry of education and UNESCO Nepal.
