For the wands I modelled, I made a variation for each colour wizard I made. The colours are not exact, but they match the colour scheme.
Next, I wanted to make an upgrade for the current want. For this, I created a small but fast quad wand add-on. This is intended to circle around the mesh and fire fast. It won't do high damage, but it will be fast. The models I made simply by coping the mesh I had made and scaling it down. I also changed the colours.
For the upgrade I made, I wanted to make a holder that the player must pick up to unlock the upgrade. To make this, I added a box and inset each face of the cube. Then I extruded the faces and scaled them in using Alt S. I made sure it had accurate UV's. This is because I want to texture the upgrade on to the box.
I got my upgrade mesh and spent some time rendering it out. I added some lights, so the mesh could be seen, and edited the material. I made it glow slightly to add to the render. I rendered it out so I could tile it to each mesh face.
I tried for a bit to get the model textured in blender, but I could not figure out how to get the image on each face. So I ended up exporting the mesh to substance painter. To this I add a base material for the box other than the main faces. As my render is transparent, it should overlay on to the mesh nicely. I tried to use the tiling method, but it didn't work how I wanted, so I just copied my image on each face. I made sure each one fit the frame of the UV square.
