My Digital Portfolio

My name is Janet Rodriguez and my goal is to positively influence students to aspire whomever they wish to become. I want my students to feel eager to learn and love coming to my class each day ready and motivated to succeed. I will create a caring learning environment that is an open forum for discussion where students of all levels can safely express opinions and be listened to; where the topics addressed in class are connected to the real world.

I am extremely proud of my Latin heritage and becoming a bilingual teacher will enable me to instill the importance of self-worth and culture in my students. I will inspire my students to be proud of their origins and embrace their roots.

I will not only empower my students, but help them understand that making mistakes is necessary to grow and excel. I will work hard to help my students become curious risk-takers and persevere when there is a difficult task at hand. Learning is not always dull, and I plan to use my creativity to prove it! Lastly, as I know students learn best when they feel welcomed and comfortable, I will make sure to create a classroom filled with love, empathy, and respect.
