IMTS is the ability to access, manage, apply, analyze, and evaluate digital information and instructional technological tools. This includes leveraging technology innovatively and effectively in diverse learning environments to collaborate, communicate, think critically, and create new functions in the midst of rapidly changing technological advances (Michaels et al., 2015).
I use Screencast-O-Matic to create personalized instructional videos for my students. If a student misses a lesson due to absence or simply needs a refresher on a concept, they know exactly where to go!
During my lessons, I use Google slides so that my students know what to expect and to facilitate transitions. Using consistent visuals for our routines and displaying instructions where they can be clearly seen helps create a predictable and safe environment. Check out one of my presentations for a lesson on circles.
Edpuzzle can be used to share interactive videos with students, enabling teachers to differentiate and provide opportunities for self paced learning and reflection.
I delivered an edpuzzle training as part of a professional development series to support Marin County K-12 teachers in effective distance learning. Hosted in partnership by Dominican University and Marin County Office of Education. Check it out!
Adobe Spark is a tool that allows students to create impactful videos with a simple user interface. I used this tool to capture my reflection on professionalism in the classroom.
