Collaboration is the ability to work productively and equitably while valuing others in diverse educational settings (Michaels et al., 2015).
I collaborate with my students in order to build our shared learning community. I like to periodically collect student feedback with anonymous surveys so that students feel they be candid in their responses. Some of my favorite classroom routines have come from this method of collaboration! Here is a survey I created with Google Forms to collect feedback after student teaching for a month.
Jamboard is an interactive tool that allows teachers and students to collaborate on activities, fostering an appreciation for one another's perspectives and building feedback skills. At the same time, it can offer a level of anonymity that invites a different type of participation. I will use Jamboard in my classroom for community building (FUN!) and also for sharing ideas and peer feedback on math problems. Attached is an example of a collaboration with my colleagues using Jamboard to explore the topic of Cultural Humility.
