Communication is the ability to successfully use interpersonal skills and components of literacy (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) to contribute to teaching, learning, and development (Michaels et al., 2015).
Communication is one of my strengths. I appreciate the impact our words have on one another, so am thoughtful about my tone and word choices. I also respect others' time, so strive to be concise and impactful. When I create a written or visual communication, I put myself in the shoes of my audience to make sure key messages will be clearly understood through the content and presentation.
Here are examples of some of my communications home to families regarding what their students are up to in the classroom and how they can engage with them at home!
My slide deck on California's Local Control Funding Formula is an example of my clear and concise style in a presentation.
