This page shows you how to record a match
You should see a list of matches that are today’s date or older that are available for recording.
You can add new matches here but only after you have created your teams and players (see Set-up).
[How to add matches]
The home team has green selectors and the away team has purple selectors.
You can switch between teams and choose up to 13 players on each team to record.
The minimum is just 1 player on one of the teams.
You can add new players (not previously entered in the app) but not you cannot reassign existing players here - go to Set-Up to organise playing squads.
[How to add players]
Broadcast Scorecard - choose to let others receive updates as you score - they will need the code provided to access it.
Adjust Ruleset - change from the standard ruleset you set up in set-up. It includes options to amend e.g. the number and length of periods.
Adjust Contols - the app will use the record controls you set for the team but here you can fine tune your settings.
These options cannot be changed once you start recording.
Select 'record' and you will be taken to the scorecard - alternatively you can 'reset' your player selection or 'cancel' to choose a different match.
The above screenshot shows the scorecard.
You can move between players using the player buttons. The selected player's name appears in the header and the header and footer colours change to indicate their team.
You can choose your starting line up by clicking on the player's time - this toggles them from bench <-> court. You can change this as it happens during the match. A click on a selected player does the same thing. Or you can change the on court players quick and easily by using the roster change icon in the bottom menu bar.
You can drag and drop the players to change their order or press the sort button that moves the on court players to the top of the list in squad no order
The players' timers will only start if the match timer is running. You can start or stop this by clicking the timer in the match scores at the foot of the screen. When it is clicked all on court players' timers start or stop.
if a player that you are NOT recording scores you can increment the team's score in the match scores at the foot of the screen. This information is needed to generate the other players' plus minus stat which summarises scoreboard changes whilst that player is on the court.
Field Goals For field goal attempts the app loads the shot map page. Press to record the court position where the player made the attempt. You'll then be asked to record the outcome e.g. if it was missed, who blocked it, who got the rebound
Turnovers and Steals If you have players on the opposing side you will be presented with a list to pick the player e.g. for a steal - who got turned over?
All other stats simply increment by +1.
If you make a mistake then press the undo button. The app attempts to keep the shotmap and shot attempts in synch by removing the latest entries so they tally. The app also stops you from reducing the attempts for a shot type below the corresponding number of successful shots
Heres what the controls at the bottom of the screen do:
When time runs out for a period the match timer goes red and so does the stopwatch icon at the foot of the page.
iPhones will vibrate for 3 seconds when this happens.
You should stop the timer at this point as the players' timers will still be running.
Now click on the stopwatch icon and select the next period.
You can also amend the time left for the active period on this page.
To save the stats press the save button at the bottom left of the record page.
Once saved, you get the option to generate an AI report based on the stats you have recorded. A request is sent to a remote service and you will get a message back when the report is ready. You can than view it in the match feed.
Options to go back to recording or finish recording are also offered.
