Nested tensegrity structure
This is a nested tensegrity structure composed by two concentric layers. The inner layer is constituted by an octahedron with cables along its edges and bars along its axes. Twelve radial bars connect the midpoints of the octahedral edges to the vertices of a cuboctahedron, with cables along its edges and additional interlayer cables, constituting the outer layer.
The picture has been featured in the column "From the Right Side" of the Pi Mu Epsilon Journal, 14(10), Spring 2019.
