Alma Schellart (Sheffield) invites to the final event of the QUICS project www.quics.eu/final_dissem
Simon Tait (Sheffield) presents his “Big Box” an infrastructure test facility filled with sand, which will also be open for other research groups (finished Feb 2018); further Simon reports that a new code of practice on hydraulic modelling will be available as a draft in November
Francois Clemens presents the ICUD special session “Metrology, experimentation and hypothesis testing in urban drainage”. Results shall also be disseminated in a wiki; Further he tells about an open database on drainage data in the Netherlands (infrastructure, measurements, etc.) which will be open for anyone
Luca Vezzaro (DTU) and Günther Leonhardt (LTU) present plans for the TSS modelling competition for PhD students together with Jean-Luc Bertrand-Krajewski (INSA Lyon) – more information in the next weeks
Jon Hathaway (University of Tennessee ) reports on changes in the development of SWMM which is moving away from EPA to the Center for Infrastructure Modeling and Management (http://www.ncimm.org/)
Giorgio Mannina reports about a group activity to publish a position paper on greenhouse gas emissions for urban drainage systems
Franz Tscheikner-Grat (TU Delft) invites to send papers to a special issue on uncertainties in ‘Water’
The group discusses possibilities of data and model sharing https://zenodo.org/ is used by some people, other suggestions are welcome
The groups acknowledges the idea to organize a special issue on open data and open models Francois Clemens, Simon Tait, David McCarthy and Manfred Kleidorfer can imagine to be a guest editor; a fitting journal would be Urban Water Journal, but an open access issue is aspired for this
