Praise God for another miraculous answer to prayer! Nick and I, along with two CSUF students, had committed to pray for the deliverance of two members of the Fellowship Church cult, and today we found out that the second member we were praying for has left the abusive group and moved back home. We rejoice that his eyes were finally opened to the reality of the group's abusive application of authority and manipulation resulting in financial exploitation of members in the name of Christ. Nick and I had previously had multiple interactions with this young man trying to express the nature of the group and are overjoyed to learn of the multiple members who have decided to walk away despite the cult's persistent pressure to return. It seems that a clean break from this group is the most beneficial for their discipleship under Jesus, but the social tension of separation and disassociation can seem crippling. We pray that God would continue this good work in this young man's life as he is faced with the new challenges associated with restarting aspects of his life that the cult has damaged and hindered. May God bless and protect his mind as he begins to sort through the cognitive turmoil caused by the indoctrination and lies taught and supported by this group through twisted interpretations of scripture. We rejoice in the freedom that we have seen granted to these people as they are welcomed into the reality of the gospel and see the fruit of healthy expressions of Christ's Church. We see an open door to specially focused ministry to members of this cult as more students leave and join Christ in pointing others towards the true image of Christ portrayed in scripture! We pray that God would use those who leave the cult as uniquely equipped messengers of freedom to those they know who still remain in the cult!
