Dr. Dave chats kicks off Season 2 with two of his all time favorite teachers - Mrs. Gayle Hightower who was his middle school Latin teacher, and Mrs. Marilyn Archibald who was his high school Latin Teacher. They play Teacher Feature Trivia to get graphic novels of the Aeneid for Mr. Maguire's junior Latin students.

Mrs. Hightower: Mrs. H holds a BA degree in Latin and a Masters in Education. She taught high school in MA for a year and 36 years in CT as a middle school Latin teacher and part-time high school teacher. She also worked at MIT at the Center for International Studies as well as at a youth and family services bureau.

Mrs. Archibald: Mrs. A attended Classical HS in Providence in the mid 60’s. Her yearbook was dubbed The Caduceus (yes Mercury’s staff!), her newspaper The Oracle, and Latin was a requirement. Intrigued by the logic, the challenge, and the mystery of the language, she chose to major in Latin in college in spite of critics who saw no relevancy in such a choice. Although her parents had only HS educations (her mom immigrated from Scotland at age 6) both her brothers have law degrees and she earned a master’s in Latin and taught 5 levels for 40 years.
