Read&Write is a software program that provides tools to support reading and writing. Several features may support students with low vision including the highlighting, text-to-speech, and screen masking tools. Check out this Quick Reference Guide or these brief video tutorials to learn more about how the tools work.
The Issaquah School District has a limited group license to provide accounts for students who require accommodations in these areas, or who would benefit from additional supports to access their education.
Read&Write offers a free 30-day trial to explore the full features of the software. To initiate a free trial, download the software, then select "Sign in with Microsoft" and proceed using the district-provided Office 365 credentials to log in. Upon the end of the trial if you find your student is accessing the program regularly, please complete this form to request continued access. If you are using a district laptop, you will need administrative privileges to download the program, please call 425-837-6371 to coordinate the installation with a tech specialist.
