Switches for Voice Output Communication

Whether it's to say "Hello" or something more, a student with complex communication needs needs a way to communicate. One solution is to use a voice output communication device or VOCA. There are many ways to record a voice and allow a non-verbal person to have a voice that is understood by everyone around them. Keep in mind, that how a student accesses the switch affects their ability to use the switch. It is important to consult with your speech-language pathologist or occupational therapist on the type of switch and the placement. Below are some pictures/links of some low-tech VOCAs.
