TouchChat with Word Power is an app for the iPad by Saltillo. It is a full-featured, complex app that can be tailored to fit the needs of each student.
This is an example of a “HOME” page. The layout can change or buttons can be hid depending on the needs of each student.
The Message Bar is the white space at the top and the words will appear there that the user presses. When tapped, it will say the whole message.
CATEGORIES are across the top.
CORE VOCABULARY are all the “other words”
Cells are colored depending on word type (verb, noun, etc).
HOW TO FIND A WORD with WORDFINDER
HOW TO FIND A WORD with WORDFINDER
1. From the vocabulary, select the Keyboard ABC123 (on this page it is the top right corner).
2. Select Find Word. Word Finder opens.
3. Enter the word you want to find.
4. Select Find. (If the word is not stored, the Find button will remain grayed out and you will not be able to select it.)
5. The window will display the sequence of buttons to tap to activate the word.
6. Tap the buttons to practice the motor pattern.

1. From HOME page, select GROUPS and then VISUAL SCENES
2. A picture can be added in the middle and different comments /questions can be added related to the picture.

STORIES AND SCRIPTS
1. From the HOME page, select GROUPS and then STORIES AND SCRIPTS
2. The students can create their own scripts or stories by storing the text they composed to buttons.
3. They can then sequentially tell a story or event later to friends and family.

1. From the HOME page, select GROUPS and then NEWS
2. There are a few options to RECORD and PLAY news from school or home.
3. The students can be involved in using their devices to choose the topic or even create the sentence and then a family member or school friend can record the message with their voice.
4. This is a great strategy to share during group time or morning meetings.
