Course Outline
Generalised Linear Mixed-effects Models: Concepts and Applications
Tomasz Burzykowski, Hasselt University and IDDI, Belgium
Abstract
This course aims at providing information about the main concepts of the theory of generalized linear mixed-effects models (GLMMs). Illustrations of practical applications of GLMMs will consitute an important part of the course. There will be no hands-on sessions; however, the relevant parts of the code (for SAS and R) to fit the exemplary models will be given during the lectures.
Contents of the course
1. An overview of the main concepts of generalized linear models
2. An overview of the main concepts of linear mixed-effects models
3. Generalized linear mixed-effects models
(a) Formulation
(b) Estimation methods
(c) Interpretation
(d) Examples of applications
