We are very pleased to announce the joint conference of CEN and ISBS which will take place in Vienna next year from the 28th of August till the 1st of September.

The aim of this conference is to bring together professional biostatisticians both from the academic world as well as from the industry. CEN is the Central European Network of the IBS which currently consists of the Austro-Swiss Region (ROeS), the German Region (DR) and the National Group Poland. This will be the fourth Conference of the CEN and it will be the first time that it is held jointly with the International Society for Biopharmaceutical Statistics (ISBS).

We would like to make use of this occasion next year to intensify the contacts of the CEN to other countries of the region, specifically including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Slowakia. One aim will be to find out if there is sufficient interest to extend the CEN network to these countries and thereby provide an environment which will allow more biostatisticians of the region to collaborate. To this end the conference will grant reduced registration fees for a maximal number of 50 participants, where this special support is primarily (but not exclusively) meant for presenters from the above mentioned countries and Poland. You are also particularly encouraged to organize topic contributed sessions which might include statisticians from your country as speakers. The call for topic-contributed session proposals will open on the 1st of October with a deadline on the 31st of January 2017.
