Using the same SPSS data file, we have also gathered enough information to be able to come to a conclusion about consumer attitude.
This was done by combining a series of sentences consumers either related strongly with or not, in a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being strongly disagree and 5 being strongly agree.
They are namely ;
Drinking beer makes me feel good
Drinking beer helps me relax
Beer tastes better if you drink it with friends
I try to know everything about beer
I try to experiment different types of beer
I always buy the same brand of beer
I avoid places where my favorite brand is not for sale
When my favorite brand is not available i don't drink beer from another brand.
With this, we are able to study the consumer behavior in depth regarding these aspects consumers might take into consideration when acting upon the consumption of beer.
[spss output 25 - Consumer attitude]
Box plot representing agreement/disagreement of consumer relating to the sentences listed above
As our highest number on the y-axis observed in the boxplot above is 45 , this indicates that on a scale from 1 to 5, 1 being strongly disagree and 5 being strongly agree, the various factors that affect beer consumption all rate 5.
The several observations made using this boxplot are namely:
our median line is at a value of 27.00.
This means that in the upper quartile, consumers tend to show a positive attitude in consuming beer.
In the lower quartile, consumers tend to show a more negative attitude.
