Some things to think about for Returning Characters
Zones and Tethers: There are several different parts of Chicago, each anchored by a particular tether. Each zone is somewhat isolated, and while travel is possible, it is costly and dangerous. What zone you are in might be a tether that you are part of, or it might be one that you were trapped in the night of the time bomb. You can check multiple ones if you can see yourself in one of multiple and we'll network folks to balance things out.
Character Transformations: The last year has changed everyone in some way. Whether its the mundane change of gaining in skill or the more significant change of major transformation, there are some opportunities.
- songs and affinities- Many restrictions are potentially lifted in terms of what can be learned in the modern age, including ethereal affinities, the purviews of Gods.
- creature type transitions- Characters that have a relationship to another character type may transform in some way. This is significant undertaking, not something minor, but is definitely available.
- apotheosis- characters may take steps towards greater mastery of their current state. While divine words have been lost, there are opportunities for the development of thematic powers.
- alliances- Archangels and Demon Princes have lost their official power, but many now function as powers in Chicago and the Marches. Who do you work for now?
- words- Divine and Infernal Words are no longer available, but thematic words can be developed that connect to human ideals represented in the marches
Hooks: Hooks are opportunities for us to try and build up the factions during the worldbuilding session and around it, a chance to build some new character connections.
